MapFight is a web-app to help visualize the size of a geographic area.

The Mercator projection, a map projection of the earth onto a cylinder, is known to greatly distort areas near the poles. For, example, Greenland takes as much area on the map as Africa, when in fact Africa’s area is approximately 14 times greater than Greenland.

MapFight was earlier hosted on the subdomain mapfight.appspot.com. I have since moved to the custom domain mapfight.xyz
